Sino-Japanese Art Education Seminar
Sino-Japanese Art Education seminar
Sino-Japanese Art Education seminar was held on Dec. 22nd, 2009, in Room A301 of Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University. The Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, Tokyo Fine Arts University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Kanazawa College of Art University, Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts, and Tokyo University of Fine Arts attended the meeting. Professors from these universities each gave a speech on art education.
They stressed the importance and feasibility to build an open art and design education system in the meeting. Some of them introduced their own cases of teaching experiments. College is a base for education, and also the environment where the arts grow. So, it is important to make reasonable arrangement for the course plan and assessment method. All the professors engaged in a fierce discussion on that. At last, they all agreed that the requirement—paper is a necessary condition for getting PhD—should not be abolished.
The seminar is important for the cooperation between China and Japan on art education. The Japanese expressed that we should act as soon as possible. In the end of the meeting, all the delegates agree to “Sino-Japanese cooperation Action Declaration on art education”.
