The forum for celebrating the birth of Zhuangshi No.200 was held
To celebrate the birth of Zhuangshi issue 200, a forum was held in A301 of Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University on December 11th, 2009. Zhuangshi editorial board members, some leaders of Tsinghua University and media professionals were invited. So were a few excellent authors and reader represents.
Conference formally started at 10:00AM. Fang Xiaofeng, the editor-in-chief of Zhuangshi, presided it. In the meeting, Mr. Hang, the vice-president of the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, and some leaders of relevant departments of Press and Publication Administration made a speech each.
Zhuangshi, founded in 1958, is a class comprehensive journal on art and design covering graphic design, product design, exhibition design, information design, architectural design, environmental art and design, furniture design, dyeing art design, costume design, arts and crafts, public art and art history and many other fields, which is sponsored by Tsinghua University and hosted by Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University. At first, Zhuangshi was published occasionally, then quarterly, bimonthly. After 2002, it became a monthly journal. Zhuangshi No. 12 of 2009 is exactly No.200 of the total number. Zhuangshi has experienced and grown for 51 years.
In order to serve as a professional role of the media better, Zhuangshi official Web site came out on the same day. The site will seek to reflect the dynamic of Chinese design and timely to initiate discussions on topics of public design. English website has also been opened, in order to introduce Chinese design profile to the world, which will improve its international influence further.
The forum was not only the fruits showing the significant of our past efforts but also truly brought us valuable academic exchanging ideas.
